inThat fresh wax smell trick I finally figured out after 7 test drives
Oh man, that gritty feeling is such a dead giveaway. I had a similar thing happen on an old Civic I was looking at last year. Ran my fingers right along the seam where the fender meets the door and it felt like sandpaper almost. Sure enough, the guy had bondoed a whole mess of rust and just painted over it without sanding it smooth first. It's wild how much you can catch just by paying attention to what your hand feels, especially in spots that look fine at first glance. I swear, half the time my fingers find more than my eyes do on these beaters.

inPSA: My DIY garden fence took 3 tries before the deer stopped laughing at it
My buddy Steve tried the chicken wire route last summer. Put up a 5 foot fence around his green beans and the deer just sort of leaned over and ate the tops off. Then he did the whole double layer thing with t-posts and wire mesh, cost him like $80 and two weekends. They still got in by squeezing between the posts where he left a tiny gap. Finally he gave up and just planted a big patch of clover on the other side of his property to distract them. Worked better than any fence.

inPro tip: I switched from a standard rasp to a diamond grit one for my finishing work.
Yeah I've been through this exact thing. If your steel rasp is junk even on a fresh hoof it's probably just a cheap one that wasn't hardened right. I switched to a diamond one after ruining two steel rasps on the same nasty quarter crack and honestly the difference was night and day for me. Not saying steel can't work for some people but when you're dealing with really hard hooves the diamond just eats through it way smoother with way less effort.

inShoutout to the old barber who told me I was fading too fast on the sides
Wait wait wait - "called out for rushing the blend on a client who kept coming back"??" Someone actually called you out for that? That's brutal man, I'd be mortified if a client pointed out a visible line like that.

inVent: My neighbor in the North Valley just had a huge sewer backup
My buddy Mike in Sun Prairie spent $4k last year on the same root problem.
