The cashier at my credit union caught something the app missed
I moved $2,400 between accounts last week using the mobile app and it showed as pending for 4 days, so I stopped in to ask about it and the teller noticed the routing number I'd saved was for an old closed account. She fixed it in 5 minutes and the transfer went through by lunch, which made me wonder if I should just go back to doing this in person for anything over $500. Anyone else had a bank app quietly fail on a simple transfer like this?
Man, that teller saved you from a headache and a half, and it makes me wonder how many of these "pending" transfers are actually just stuck on dead account info nobody bothered to flag. The app probably had the old routing number saved from years back and never warned you, which means a ton of people are out there waiting on money that's going nowhere. Going in person for bigger transfers sounds slow but at least a real human catches stuff like that before it sits there for days.
