Update: I finally see why everyone runs a probe on their VMC

I spent two years trusting a test indicator and edge finder, until last Tuesday I got a 0.008 inch shift after a vise swap and had to scrap a $300 fixture. Ran a quick probe cycle on my buddy's Haas at his shop in Dayton and set up the next job in under 10 minutes, which used to take me close to an hour. Anyone else hold out on probes for cost reasons and then kick themselves later?

Probes pay for themselves the first time they save a part. Cheap insurance once you do the math.
