Warning: Tooling holder taper got scored from a tiny chip

This happened Tuesday afternoon on the Haas VF-2. A carbide insert shattered on a 316 stainless part and a small chip wedged itself between the holder and the spindle taper. I didn't notice until I swapped tools and felt the pull stud bind. The taper had a visible score line about an inch long, and now that holder is basically scrap. Anyone else had luck getting a taper reground, or should I just budget for a new holder at around $180?

Did you check the spindle bore itself for damage before you swapped tools, or just the holder? That little chip could have left a mark in the taper that messes with runout on every tool you use now.
