Pushed my first real project to GitHub today and hit 50 commits before I stopped

Honestly I started this little weather app like 3 weeks ago just to learn how APIs work. I kept adding small features like a dark mode toggle and then a 5 day forecast. Today I looked at my commit count and it was 51. That blew my mind because I used to think I'd never even finish a tutorial. Every commit was something tiny like fixing a typo or adjusting a CSS grid. But seeing it stack up made me feel like I actually built something from scratch. Has anyone else gotten weirdly proud of a commit streak even if the code is messy?

My buddy Tom went through something similar with this dumb little habit tracker he built. He started with like 20 lines of HTML and just kept adding tiny things like a progress bar and a confetti animation for streaks. One day he showed me his repo with 60 commits and I laughed because half of them were just "fixed a spacing issue" or "changed the button color." But he was genuinely proud of it and honestly I got it. There's something satisfying about seeing that list of tiny steps add up to something real even if it's messy.
