TIL my little cousin's scratch games went from copy-paste Frankenstein blocks to real loops in about 3 weeks
She's 12 and started on Scratch back in January. First month her projects were like 40 stacked forever blocks and a sprite that just bounced off walls in one spot. Last week she showed me a maze game she made and it had actual variables for lives and a timer and even a level counter. I asked what changed and she said she just finally got what a variable does after watching the same 8 minute video twice. The time frame was maybe 3 weeks of messing around after school. Made me think how I quit twice before things clicked for me. What was the one idea that finally made coding feel less like magic to you?
