Best coffee week I've had in ages came from a broken scale

My fancy digital scale died last Tuesday morning. I had to eyeball everything for my pour over. Bean weight, water temp, pour time. Just went by feel. Turned out that was the best cup of coffee I've made in months. Did it again Wednesday on purpose and it was still good. Thursday I tried to recreate the exact same routine and it was just okay. Friday morning it rained and my whole vibe was off and the coffee was terrible. Now I don't know if I should fix the scale or just embrace chaos. Has anyone else had a lucky streak after ditching the measurements?

That scale was giving you consistent, reproducible results. Chaos works until it doesn't and you'll be chasing that one weird morning for weeks.
