Roaster at the farmer's market in Denver changed my mind about dark roasts

Man I totally feel you on this one. I went to this little coffee pop up in a parking lot last summer and the guy was roasting beans right there in a little machine. He handed me a cup of his darkest roast and I was ready to hate it but it was actually smooth and not bitter at all. I mean it changed my whole outlook on dark roasts too, now I actually seek them out instead of just going for medium blends every time. There's something about a fresh roast that just hits different, like you can taste the actual bean and not just the burnt flavor. Makes me wish I lived closer to a market that had a roaster setup like that.
