Switched from tap to filtered water for my morning brew. The difference is insane.

For years I used plain tap water from my kitchen sink. My coffee always had a slight bitter edge. Last month I bought a basic $30 filter pitcher. The first cup I made with it was a total shock. The flavors were cleaner, brighter, and that weird aftertaste was gone. Anyone else find their water source was the main thing holding their coffee back?

What kind of filter pitcher did you get? I've been looking at them but they all seem the same to me, and I'm worried about buying one that doesn't actually do much. Did you just grab whatever was cheap at the store, or did you pick a specific brand?

I used to just buy the cheapest filter at Target, but my tap water had a weird chlorine taste. I looked up the NSF ratings and found the Brita Longlast actually removes more stuff than the basic models. Laura_lane, it's worth checking what contaminants your city reports in the water report, then match a filter to that. The cheap ones only handle taste and smell, not things like lead or cysts.

Grabbed the Brita after reading some reviews.
