Unpopular opinion: pour-over is not better than a decent drip machine

I spent a year chasing the perfect pour-over with a gooseneck kettle and a V60, convinced it was the only way. Then I borrowed my neighbor's $40 Mr. Coffee and honestly couldn't tell the difference in taste. Has anyone else done a blind taste test and felt dumb about it?

Couldn't agree more. Fancy gear doesn't fix bad beans.

My buddy spent $600 on a grinder just to find out his beans were two years old.
