I was totally wrong about trade school vs university until I saw the numbers

I dropped out of community college back in 2021 after one semester of gen eds I hated. My dad kept pushing me to try HVAC tech training at the local trade center, and I thought it was a scam. But after 3 months of dicking around at a warehouse job, I signed up for a 10 week program that cost under 2 grand. Now I've been working for 18 months and my take home pay is higher than my buddy who just graduated with a business degree. Has anyone else found a short certification that actually paid off way faster than they expected?

Yeah, but not every short cert pays off like that.

Omg same lol. I grabbed a short on YETI last year thinking it was overpriced and it just kept going up for months before finally dropping. Felt like forever watching it climb, was nerve-racking honestly. Panned out in the end but definitely not the quick win I expected at all.
