Serious question, why does everyone act like dropping out is the end of the road?
I left my nursing program in Lincoln about 6 months ago after 2 years, and the weirdest part was how people reacted at family cookouts. My aunt kept saying I threw away a whole career, but then I pointed out I still work nights at the hospital as a tech and just signed up for a 10 month LPN program at the community college that costs $4,800. Nobody mentions that path, they just jump straight to doom and gloom. It bugs me that so many folks think quitting one specific program means quitting on yourself entirely. Anyone else get the doom speeches from relatives and find a cheaper way back in?
Man, I got the same speeches when I switched programs, and the LPN route at a community college is exactly what got me back on track without the debt. You already have the hospital job, so that ten month program is a smart move, not a step back.
