Am I the only one who's seen the dive gear quality tank since 2020?
I pulled out my old Poseidon regulator from 2018 the other day and compared it to the new one I bought last spring. The old one feels solid, the new one has plastic bits that look cheap and I swear the threading feels off. I work night shifts at a hospital so I only get out for dives on weekends now, but this is bugging me. Has anyone else noticed this drop in quality on newer gear?

Is it just me or has everything gotten flimsier since 2020 though? Like I bought a new garden hose last year and the plastic connector cracked on the second use. My old one from 2015 is still fine. Same with my car's interior, the knobs and vents feel way cheaper than my 2019 model. I bet these companies switched to lighter materials to save on shipping costs or something, but the whole threading thing on your new reg would freak me out too. That's the last thing you want failing 60 feet down.

Dude you're 100% right @barnes.shane, it's wild how fast quality tanked after 2020. Last fall I grabbed a new kitchen faucet from the home store and the nozzle started dripping a week in, all because the plastic toggle inside broke. My buddy's got a '22 Tacoma and the AC vent just snapped off one day from normal use, no kids or anything. It's like they're all using the cheapest possible resin now instead of actual metal or nylon. And yeah if I was you I'd be triple checking every single o-ring and thread on that reg before taking it down, no joke.

My 2015 hose is still going strong too but the 2022 one split at the fitting in like two months. I'm starting to think I should just buy stuff from 2010 on eBay and call it good, at least that plastic won't disintegrate in my hands.
