My old Kirby Morgan regulator finally gave out mid-dive in October
Honestly, I was 40 feet down inspecting a pier in Norfolk when I heard that familiar hiss turn into a full-on free flow. The second stage started dumping air like crazy and I had to abort the job right there. Turns out the diaphragm had a hairline crack probably from years of cold water dives. I swapped in a new Dia-Components kit I had in my truck and it's been running smooth since. Has anyone else had a reg fail on them out of nowhere like that?

Bro that's rough. Nothing like a reg deciding to throw in the towel at 40 feet to make you appreciate surface air. Guess Kirby Morgans have a shelf life just like everything else. Glad the Dia kit patched it up though, those things are like a lifesaver for that kind of surprise. Maybe she just wanted a mid-dive nap or something.
