Rant: The junk pile I found while fixing a buoy line last month

I was out on a routine buoy maintenance dive and stumbled upon a huge pile of old tires and scrap metal right on the seabed. It was hidden in the murk, and I almost got my hose caught in it. This isn't just some eyesore; it's a serious trip hazard for divers and it's killing the local fish habitat. I've been diving this spot for years, and the junk keeps growing from stuff tossed off boats. We can't let this slide because one wrong move could mean a cut suit or a snapped air line. I had to signal my buddy to help me move a rusted barrel, and it wasted good bottom time. If we don't speak up about dumping, our work sites will turn into garbage dumps. How do you guys handle trash when you see it on a job?

The junk pile you found sounds nasty. I'd probably trip over my own feet and join the scrap metal down there.

Just like junk drawers, but for the whole ocean floor.
