Serious question, after nailing my first solo inspection dive

I'm thrilled I completed it without any hiccups! But I kept fumbling with my light when switching hands in the dark. What's the best way to handle gear shifts in zero visibility?

That light fumble is a specific problem though. What kind of light were you using, one with a big handle or a smaller canister light?

Seriously? You're making a big deal out of this? Fumbling with a light during your first solo dive is NORMAL, not some crisis. Just practice switching hands in a pool or something before you call it zero visibility gear shifts. It's not that serious, you'll get the hang of it after a few more dives. Focus on the win, you nailed the dive, that's what matters.

Man, that's a solid win on the solo dive! I see this everywhere, like when my phone charger cord gets tangled in the dark. We buy gear for the main job, but forget to practice the simple, awkward moves we'll need under pressure. Did you try clipping the light to your wrist with a short leash before the handoff?
