Skipping the tool check on a deep weld job nearly got me burned
I was down on a pipeline fix at 150 feet last week. My partner wanted to skip looking over the cutting gear to save time. Halfway through, my torch blew a spark right onto my glove. We had to bail out quick, and I ended up with a nasty scorch mark. Now I yell at anyone who tries to cut corners on the pre dive look over. Why put your skin on the line for a boss's hurry up call? Always do your checks, period.

It's crazy how that hurry up mindset pops up everywhere, not just dangerous jobs. I see it when people skip reading the manual for a new grill or don't check their tire pressure before a long drive. We're all trained to save those five minutes now, but it usually costs way more time fixing the mess later. Your story is a brutal reminder that some shortcuts just aren't worth the price.

Exactly what wren_ellis12 said about that hurry up mindset. I see it all the time in small ways, like people rushing through setup steps for something new and missing a key part.
