That simple hose clamp trick I picked up in Port Fourchon

I was fighting with a leaking pneumo fitting for 45 minutes during a gas dive last month, kept tightening it with no luck. An old saturation diver I work with walked over and said "flip the clamp 180 degrees and try again" - the screw part was hitting the valve body and preventing it from sealing. Has anyone else run into that specific problem or am I just the last guy to figure it out?

Port Fourchon guys always have the weirdest little hacks, don't they? 45 minutes fighting a fitting probably means you were about two turns away from just cutting the damn hose and starting over. That screw head trick is the kind of thing you learn after throwing a wrench across the boat twice. Some of us just have to learn the hard way I guess.

Throw a wrench across the boat twice and you'll invent it yourself, @the_seth.
