A customer at my shop in Dayton told me to stop guessing at power supply failures, so I bought a $28 tester
I used to just swap in a known good PSU whenever a PC wouldn't boot, which wasted time and sometimes gave me a wrong answer. A regular who runs a repair shop in Dayton told me to quit guessing and test the rails under load first, so I picked up a $28 tester and my comebacks on no-post machines went from about 3 a month to almost zero. Does anyone else have a cheap tool that a customer or coworker talked them into that ended up saving real time?
