Finally figured out why my thermal paste jobs kept failing after 6 years

Wait hold on you had the same paste in there for six years? That is wild to me. I swap mine out every time I clean my PC which is like twice a year. No wonder it started failing the paste was probably totally dried out and crumbly. Thermal paste doesn't last forever man that stuff ages and loses its properties. Six years is basically ancient in thermal paste years especially if your CPU runs hot. I bet it was like hard clay in there.
