I finally saw a working IBM 5150 at a museum in Seattle

It was at the Living Computers Museum, and they had it hooked up and running. I forgot how heavy those old cases were and how you had to know exactly what jumper to set. Makes me wonder what old gear you guys have run into that still works.

Yeah, that bit about knowing the jumpers is so real. My buddy found an old dot matrix printer in his dad's garage, a Panasonic KX-P1124. He spent a whole weekend with the manual just to get it to print a test page, and the sound was insane, like a robot having a breakdown.

Remember my uncle had one of those Panasonic printers in his home office forever ago, @rowan_wilson40. Honestly, the noise was something else, like a swarm of angry metal bees. Tbh I mostly just liked tearing off the perforated edges from the paper and making a huge mess. That whole jumper thing sounds like a nightmare, way worse than just plugging in a USB cable.
