Rant: Hitting 500 dead pixels in one shift made me question everything

I work at a shop in Austin that does a lot of LCD screen repairs. Last Tuesday I counted 500 dead pixels across 4 monitors that came in from a single office. That number blew my mind because I usually see maybe 50 in a week. It made me realize how many people just ignore bad screens until they get a head ache. Honestly I think most folks would benefit from a cheap pixel tester before they buy used gear. Has anyone else run into a crazy batch of failures like that?

500 dead pixels sounds rough but honestly most people would never even notice that many on a normal monitor unless they were looking for them. A cheap pixel tester is fine if you're buying used gear but for the average person it's just another gadget that ends up in a drawer. I get that it sucks for your shop but this feels more like a bad batch from one office than some huge problem everyone needs to worry about.

Damn, that's wild. Ngl I always thought pixel testers were kinda overkill for the average person, but 500 in one shift changes my mind. That's a brutal way to learn the hard way.
