Watched a crew pour a driveway in Boise last Tuesday and it flipped my thinking on waiting for a full load
I was in Boise last Tuesday visiting my brother and stopped to watch a crew pour a 24 foot driveway next to his place. They had a truck show up with barely 3 yards in it and I figured they were just short, but the foreman told me he ordered it that way on purpose so they could start screeding while the second truck was still on the road. I have always waited for the whole load to show up before I even pick up a tool, and here these guys were already finishing one section by the time the next truck pulled in. Guess my old way of sitting around for an hour is just wasted time I never thought about. Has anyone else tried splitting a small driveway into two short loads, or does the cold joint cause you problems later?
