I used to laugh at people who said console was better for fighting games

Always thought my PC with a 144hz monitor was the only way to play. Then I went to a local tournament at my buddy's garage, and the PS4 setup there just worked, no lag spikes or driver issues. That night I got wrecked by a guy on a stock controller, and it made me realize the playing field is way more even on console. Ever had your PC setup betray you at the worst moment?

Oh man, that's brutal. I had a similar thing happen during a local Smash tourney years ago. What worked for me was switching to a wired connection and making sure the PC had fresh thermal paste before big events. Also started keeping a cheap backup laptop in my bag just in case. Never had another freeze after that, but the memory still stings.
