Warning: I spent 6 years gaming on PC with my monitor plugged into the motherboard
Friend came over to help me troubleshoot why my frames were tanking on Baldur's Gate 3. He took one look at the back of my tower and just started laughing. I thought 'integrated graphics' was just a name for the basic video thingy. Built the PC myself in 2018 too. Never felt so dumb. Anyone else have a facepalm moment like this?

My buddy Dave did the exact same thing back in 2019 with his first build. He was so proud of his fancy new GPU but couldnt figure out why Cyberpunk 2077 was running like a slideshow. I came over and saw the HDMI cable going right into the motherboard, not the graphics card. He had the whole setup looking clean too, cable managed and everything, just plugged into the wrong spot. Took him about 15 seconds to swap it and he said the difference was like night and day, he went from 15 fps to a solid 60.

@xenan64 hearing that story actually made me rethink a few things. I used to think people who made that mistake were just being careless, but now I get how easy it is to overlook when you're focused on making everything look perfect. That 15 fps to 60 fps jump really drives home how one tiny oversight can ruin the whole experience.
