I used to dismiss flat earth people as trolls until my brother in law showed me the Chicago skyline from 50 miles away
I know this is gonna get me roasted here but I need to get it off my chest. For years I rolled my eyes at anyone questioning the globe model and lumped them in with lizard people folks. Then about 4 months ago my brother in law dragged me to a meetup in Indianapolis and a guy there pulled up a photo he took from a beach in Michigan where buildings that should be hidden by curvature were clearly visible. I looked it up myself and found the same shots from multiple spots, not just one random dude with a zoom lens. Now I am not saying the earth is flat, I am saying I was way too quick to shut down the whole conversation without looking at anything. Has anyone here actually gone and checked the math on the 8 inches per mile squared thing themselves instead of just repeating it?
