PSA: I used to think Earth was flat, here's why I don't anymore
Took a sailing class and learned to use a sextant. The math for a round planet just worked, while flat Earth explanations fell apart.

Actually had a similar shift in thinking a while back. Always figured the flat stuff was just silly, but seeing it proven wrong with actual tools makes it click. Learning something hands-on, where the numbers just add up, really kills the doubt. What other things do people learn by doing that changed their mind?

Yep, hands on proof is everything. I had a similar thing with basic car stuff, like how changing a tire really shows you why round wheels work. Reading about it does nothing compared to feeling the lug nuts turn. When you do it yourself, the bad ideas just crumble because they don't match what's in your hands. That physical result, the thing that just works, it ends the whole debate in your head.
