Rant: That fiberglass repair on my old canoe took 6 weekends

Thought it would be a weekend job. Started in April. Sanded, patched, sanded again. Resin wouldn't cure right in the cold garage. Had to wait for warm days. Then the cloth bubbled up. Ripped it off and started over. Finally got it watertight in June. Six weeks for a 16 foot crack. Has anyone else had a simple boat fix turn into a whole season?

@lily_schmidt53, buying new misses the point - that repair taught me patience and saved a 40 year old canoe.

Six weekends sounds like you're bragging. Real boaters just buy a new canoe and move on.
