Serious question, did anyone else think the moon landing hoax stuff was dumb until they saw that one photo?
I always laughed at moon landing conspiracy people. Then a buddy showed me a pic from Apollo 11 where the flag looks like it is waving and there are no stars in the sky. I spent 3 nights reading NASA's own explanation about the flag being on a wire and the camera exposure settings. What got me was the math on the Van Allen belt radiation, it seemed like a real problem until I saw the actual dose numbers from the 1969 mission reports. I still think most of it is nonsense but that one flag thing had me going for a bit. Did any of you get tripped up by a specific detail before you looked into the other side?

What was it about the radiation math that actually had you going for a bit? I've seen the Van Allen belt brought up a hundred times but the numbers people throw around are all over the place, like some say it's a death sentence and others say the Apollo crews got less than a chest x-ray. Did you find the mission reports yourself or did someone walk you through them? The flag thing I get, that photo really does look weird at first glance, but the star thing never bugged me since I figured a camera pointed at a bright surface wouldn't pick up faint stars anyway.
