The day I stopped trusting the CDC flu shot numbers after a scare in Atlanta back in 2019

I was at a health fair in Atlanta getting my yearly flu shot, and this volunteer nurse let it slip that the effectiveness rate they post is based on like 500 people total, not millions like they claim. Then she caught herself and got real quiet. I went home and looked up the actual studies, and yeah, the sample sizes are tiny for something that affects the whole country. Has anyone else dug into the actual data behind these public health numbers?

My 2019 flu shot gave me a fever so bad I spent three days convinced I was turning into a human furnace and my cat started sleeping on the cold bathroom tile instead of me lol. I looked into the numbers too and found one study with like 300 people in a single county in Oregon and they based a whole national recommendation on it. Classic me though I still get the shot every year because I'm too gullible for my own good and my mom would kill me if I skipped it. The whole thing makes me feel like a clown but hey at least I'm a vaccinated clown.

Had a nurse tell me the same thing at a Publix in Gainesville back in 18.
