The part where you caught the misalignment before the pour... I read a study once that said most big construction flaws happen because people skip these checks. It talked about how fixing things after the pour costs ten times more... and can delay the whole project. I heard from a foreman that walkthroughs are boring but they save so much hassle later. He said it's easy to think nothing changes day to day... but that's when mistakes slip through. Your story just proves that taking those few minutes can stop a real disaster. Makes me wonder how many issues we could avoid if everyone did their walks like clockwork.

@rowanmartin, you say walks prevent disasters, but what if they just make everyone too cautious? Doesn't over-checking sometimes cause more delays than the mistakes themselves?
