The subfloor laser I mocked for 2 years finally proved itself in Austin
I always thought those self-leveling lasers were overpriced gadgets for the office guys. Last month we had a 4,000 sq ft concrete pour that was slightly off on the corner measurements, and the guy with the laser caught it in 15 minutes before we poured. Has anyone else had a tool they dismissed that ended up saving a whole job?

That "caught it in 15 minutes before we poured" line hits home. I spent two years making fun of my buddy's thermal camera until it found a hidden water pipe leak behind a finished wall that we'd been chasing for three days. Now I'm the guy recommending them to everyone, but only after I eat my words about it being a toy.
