Can we talk about paying $425 for a used tile saw when a $40 grinder would've done it?

I bought a used MK saw off a guy in Fresno for $425 because everyone on the crew swore you can't set 12x24 porcelain without one. Turns out my cuts were chipping anyway because of my blade, not the tool, and the grinder with a $40 diamond wheel gave me cleaner edges on the straight runs. What's the cutoff for you guys, at what tile size does the wet saw actually start earning its keep?
