Botox at 32 made me understand why people schedule around it

I spent years rolling my eyes at friends who booked appointments like clockwork, but last March I tried a tiny dose around my eyes for a wedding in Phoenix. The difference wasn't dramatic, it was more like my face stopped holding a grudge. Three weeks later my resting expression looked like I actually got enough sleep, which I didn't. I compared it to the forehead cream I used for 14 months, and the cream did nothing except make my pillow smell like a spa. The real kicker is the cost, 180 bucks every 4 months versus 60 dollars a month on serums that barely touched the lines. I still think the whole industry is overhyped, but I get the appeal now. Has anyone else had a similar switch from topicals to injectables, or am I just late to the party?

Shoot, I gotta disagree with you there. In my experience, injectables just freeze the problem instead of fixing it. You're paying to hide the lines, not to actually slow down the aging process. That cream might not have given you overnight results, but at least it wasn't paralyzing the muscles around your eyes. I've seen too many people in their 30s start this stuff and then they're stuck needing more and more just to look like they did before. Plus, that 180 bucks adds up over a decade, and you're basically training your face to rely on a needle. Just my two cents, but I'd rather age naturally than spend the rest of my life planning around a touch-up schedule.
