Update on my stubborn hen and the new coop layout

Honestly feels like you're overthinking chicken psychology here. Five eggs a week is still pretty mid, maybe she was just having an off month. I've moved stuff around a bunch and never saw some magic fix, they just do what they want.

Warning: My old miter saw stand almost cost me a finger in Boise

Parker883 has a good point about the floor, but the real weak link is often the saw's own mounting points. A lot of those stands, even with a foot pedal, just clamp to the saw's base rails. If those rails aren't rock solid on the saw itself, you'll still get movement. My old saw had a little play in them, and no stand clamp could fix that. You need a stand that grips the actual saw body, or a saw with truly solid rails, to stop that scary shift on angles.

Had to choose between a stuck door and a stuck car in a 70s building

Man, that reminds me of a time I was helping my buddy with his old truck. He was convinced the transmission was shot because it wouldn't go into gear. We spent an hour arguing about it before I noticed the floor mat was jammed up under the clutch pedal. Pulled it out and it worked fine. Sometimes the fix is just right there in front of you, but the pressure makes you look for the hardest solution first.

I spent 8 years trying to get a promotion by being the quietest person in the office, and my new manager just told me that's exactly why they keep passing me over.

My buddy's boss literally called him a "comfortable fixture.

Pro tip: I tried a 2% solution of horticultural oil on a young red maple in early spring instead of my usual dormant spray.

Yeah, maples are super sensitive to oil.
