My aunt swore I'd regret lip filler and she was dead on

Back in 2019 my aunt June who had her lips done in the 80s told me to start with half a syringe max. I thought I knew better and got a full syringe at a place in Portland. The swelling was brutal for about 10 days and now 5 years later I can still feel little lumps when I press on them. Has anyone else gotten advice from an older relative that you wish you had listened to?

Oh yeah, I have to say your aunt was probably right about the half syringe thing but also a full syringe back then was a lot more volume than what they put in now. Like the filler formulas have changed a lot since 2019 actually, some of them used to be way more stiff and that's probably why you're feeling those lumps now. My sister got hers done around the same time and she had to get them dissolved because they migrated weirdly, which is apparently more common with the older types of filler. I think people forget that what's "standard" at any given time might not be what's best long term, your aunt June had the right idea starting small.

Why do people act like 2019 was the dark ages? @miawalker the lumps are probably just bad technique.
