My Botox appointment went sideways and I looked like a confused owl for a week
Honestly, I went in for a quick touch-up on my forehead last Tuesday at this place in Austin called Glow Up Med Spa. The injector was new, and she went a little heavy on the area between my brows. By the next morning, I couldn't raise my eyebrows at all, like my face was stuck in a permanent 'huh?' expression. My coworker asked if I was shocked by something and I had to explain it was defective Botox, not bad news. I spent the whole week with this frozen, questioning look while trying to order coffee and nod during meetings. It finally wore off after 8 days, but man, those first 72 hours were a trip. Has anyone else had a bad reaction to a new injector or am I just unlucky?

Oh totally, "defective Botox" is the new "my dog ate my homework" - I love that you had to clarify it wasn't bad news lol. I had a similar thing happen when I tried a Groupon deal once and ended up with one eyebrow permanently raised like I was judging everyone in the grocery store. At least you only looked confused instead of actively skeptical of every cashier you met.

Okay I used to be the person who was like "just go to a fancy med spa, you get what you pay for" but honestly stories like yours and this one have totally changed my mind. I mean the "one eyebrow permanently raised" visual is killing me, but it's a good reminder that even the expensive places can mess up or use bad product. Now I'm way more careful about actually checking who is doing the injecting and how long they've been doing it, not just looking at the price tag.
