My lip filler skeptic phase ended after one bruising mishap

I spent a whole year rolling my eyes whenever my friend raved about her injector. Then I got a black eye from a botched kiosk filler job near the mall in Austin, and my friend's injector fixed it for $300 with a dissolve and reshape. Turns out the skill gap between a med spa and a random discount place is massive, and now I get why people drive an hour for the right person. Anyone else have a makeup artist or esthetician warn you off a bad deal before you learned the hard way?
