My med spa lady in Scottsdale said lasers would fix my brown spots, 6 sessions at $350 each and the melasma came back darker

I went to a med spa in Scottsdale back in March because I had dark patches on my cheeks from pregnancy. The lady there said six laser sessions at $350 each would clear me right up, no sunscreen needed after because the laser "resets" the skin. I paid for all six up front, that's $2,100, and by session four my face was blotchy and angry. The melasma came back darker than it ever was by session five, and I stopped going. A dermatologist later said lasers can actually make melasma worse and I should have done a patch test first. Has anyone else had a treatment make a skin issue worse instead of better?
