Warning: the $99 med spa Groupon for lip filler left my sister with a lump for 5 months
My sister bought a $99 lip filler deal at a med spa in Phoenix back in March because the reviews looked fine. The injector was a nurse with a weekend certification and no doctor on site, which I did not know was even allowed in some states. Two weeks later she had a hard lump near her top lip that would not go away, and the spa told her it was normal swelling for 6 weeks. She ended up paying $650 at a real plastic surgeon's office in Scottsdale to get it dissolved with hyaluronidase. The surgeon told her the product used was probably not the brand listed on the Groupon. Has anyone else dealt with a cheap filler deal that went sideways, and did dissolving fix it fully?
