Hit 500 clients last Friday and cried in the break room

I started keeping a client count spreadsheet back in March, just to see if my books were actually growing. Last Friday, client number 500 sat in my chair for a Brazilian blowout and I literally had to excuse myself after I finished. Five hundred heads in nine months, that number blew my mind because I only expected maybe 300. It made me realize how much regulars matter, my repeat bookings are like 70 percent of that total. Anybody else track their numbers like this or do you just go by feel?

Crying in the break room over a number on a spreadsheet, even a big one, seems like a lot. Is the count really what got you, or was it just a long week and that was the excuse? I mean, 500 is cool and all, but the real win is that 70 percent repeat rate, that's the part that actually pays the bills. Numbers are nice to look at, but they don't tell you if you're burnt out or if you're actually happy doing the work.
