Just realized how much my swim stroke changed in 4 months
I started swimming last January and could barely make it 25 meters without gasping. Fast forward to April and I did my first open water mile in Lake Michigan. The difference was my breathing - I stopped holding my breath and started exhaling underwater. My buddy filmed me from the dock and I looked like a flailing fish in January, but by April I actually looked like I knew what I was doing. What finally clicked for you guys that made the biggest difference in your training?

Oh man, breathing is for quitters, right? I spent my first month of swimming thinking if I just held my breath long enough I'd somehow turn into a fish.
