The volunteer at the swim start who pointed out my wetsuit tag
At my first sprint tri in Greenville last summer, I was shaking so bad I couldn't get my zipper up. This older volunteer just walked over, flipped my collar, and said 'tag goes in back or you'll chafe for a week.' She was right, I had it on inside out. Anyone else have a stranger fix a rookie mistake right before the gun went off?

My buddy Dave had the same thing happen at his first race in Asheville back in 2019. Some guy in a lawn chair yelled at him from ten feet away that his chip strap was on the wrong ankle, and Dave just stared at him like he was speaking Greek. The guy finally got up, fixed it himself, and told Dave he owed him a beer. Dave still talks about that guy.
