Drop $60 on a heated vest off Amazon and my back isnt screaming after 8 hours on a cold loading dock

I hear you on that hand warmer in the belt trick, I used to do the same thing but it never lasted. I got a cheap Milwaukee heated hoodie from Home Depot last winter for night shift at a warehouse, and it was a game changer for my lower back. The battery sits in the pocket and the heat really soaks into your muscles, plus I could ditch my heavy Carhartt jacket and still stay warm for a full 10 hour shift.

That week I ate like a king on $28 total and it was unreal

Did you check the produce section around 8pm too? That's when my local store marks down the bell peppers and mushrooms, I grabbed a bag of each for like a dollar total last week. Another thing that works is buying a big tube of tomato paste instead of the tiny cans, it's usually cheaper per ounce and you can just scoop out what you need and freeze the rest. Even the store brand bread gets marked down sometimes, I got a loaf of wheat bread for 60 cents and made croutons out of the heels after it started getting stale. You can REALLY stretch a dollar if you're willing to hit the clearance rack twice a week.

TIL those 'sub only' anime streams have different voice actor takes

God I feel this so hard. I once watched a whole season of some shonen show where the dub made the main guy sound like he was reading a grocery list. Switched to Japanese and suddenly he was screaming like his soul was on fire. Made me wonder if I've been missing out on half the emotional impact of every anime I've ever watched. But then again I'm the guy who cried at the end of a movie about a talking dog, so maybe I'm just a mess. The difference is wild though, especially with comedic scenes where timing is everything. I think some dubs just don't capture the raw energy of the original performances, which is a shame because voices can make or break a character for me.

I lost $200 on a fake gaming tournament entry fee last weekend

Man that sucks, I've been there! I lost $150 on a fake Smash Bros tournament a couple years back. What actually worked for me was filing a dispute through PayPal directly. I explained it was for a service that never happened and the seller ghosted me after canceling. PayPal actually sided with me after like a week and refunded the whole thing. Sometimes they'll ask for screenshots of the canceled event and the Discord deletion, so make sure you grab those if you still have any. Don't let it slide, PayPal is usually pretty good about this stuff.

Overheard a shop owner say 'just use friction paste' on carbon posts - scared me

Funny how the old school methods tend to work across the board though. @walker.robert makes a good point - people overcomplicate everything now when sometimes the simple ways still hold up, like how a little elbow grease and common sense can solve half the problems you face in the garage.
