Had to choose between a pigeon nest and a tight schedule on a job in Phoenix

We were setting steel on a six story build and a pair of pigeons made a nest right in the crane's cab doorway. My boss on the radio said to just clear it, but the mama bird was sitting on eggs. I mean, idk, I couldn't do it. I told the foreman we had to wait an hour for animal control. We lost that time, but the crew got a good laugh watching them safely move the nest. Anyone ever had to deal with wildlife holding up your lift?

Good on you for waiting for animal control. That hour probably felt like a waste to some, but it's the decent thing to do. Bosses forget we're not robots.

Not robots" is right, I once had a boss get mad at me for stopping a line to help a coworker who fell.
