How a color-coded logbook made my daily checks faster

As someone who likes order, I started using colored tabs for different crane parts. Red for hydraulics, blue for electrical. Now I can flip to the right section quickly. It shaved five minutes off my pre-shift routine. My co-worker saw it and asked for a copy.

Ever notice how our brains latch onto color way faster than words? I mean my toolbox at home is a mess, but the red tape on the wrench set makes it the first thing I grab. It's like we're all just hardwired for that kind of simple, visual shortcut.

Remember how old libraries used colored dots on book spines to show genres? It's that same idea working in your head. My whole kitchen is like that now, red lids on baking stuff, green for everyday plates. Color just bypasses all the reading and sorting in your brain. It turns a search into a reflex, like how you grab the white bandage box without even looking at the cross.
