Back in 2012, I had to choose between a sci-fi prompt or a fantasy one for a year-long project.
I picked the sci-fi one, about a city built on a comet, and it ended up being the most fun I've ever had writing. I still think about that fantasy castle prompt sometimes though, wondering what I missed. Anyone ever regret the prompt they didn't pick for a big project?

Man, that comet city idea sounds AMAZING. I get that feeling completely. I had to pick between a haunted radio station and a sunken pirate city for a game jam once. Went with the radio station, and it was a blast, but now I sometimes catch myself designing pirate ship mechanics in my head. The path you didn't take just lives in your brain forever, rent-free. It's wild how the other idea never really goes away.
