Swore by intense action openers for years until a quiet scene hooked me harder

I used to think every story needed a car chase or explosion on page one to grab readers. Then I beta read a friend's piece last month that started with a woman just pouring coffee, and I was totally locked in by the second paragraph. Anyone else have a moment where a 'boring' opening completely changed how you write?

right? quiet moments hit different when they're done right.

Read this piece online about how silence in movies actually makes the LOUD moments way better.
