The 45-minute hold for a refund they never processed

I spent 45 minutes on hold with a phone company in Phoenix last Tuesday, only for the rep to tell me my refund was 'still in review' after they'd already charged my card twice, so has anyone else had to file a chargeback just to get a straight answer out of these guys?

My buddy Tim had the same thing happen with his internet provider. They double billed him in March, and he spent two weeks calling back and forth. Every rep said the refund was "processing" but nothing ever showed up. Finally he filed a chargeback with his bank, and suddenly the company sent him a check within five days. Funny how that works, right? He still jokes that the only way to get their attention is to get your bank involved.
