Old-school tip I ignored for years: use a separate browser just for banking
My dad kept saying to use Firefox only for my bank account and nothing else, and I thought he was just being paranoid. After getting a sketchy popup on my main Chrome setup, I finally set up a dedicated browser and haven't had a scare since. Has anyone else switched to a dedicated browser for sensitive sites?

My buddy does this for his online banking AND his work email, which honestly sounds exhausting to me. Last week I tried to log into my bank on my regular browser and accidentally typed my password into a fake Google login page that looked perfect. That scare made me finally download a clean browser just for banking, and now I use it for taxes and doctor portals too. It feels silly having six browser icons on my taskbar, but at least I don't panic every time a popup shows up. Plus it forces me to actually remember my passwords instead of relying on autofill for everything.

That fake Google page scare is exactly why having a separate browser for sensitive stuff actually makes sense. Six icons on the taskbar is nothing compared to the headache of dealing with identity theft later lol. A password manager like Bitwarden can handle the remembering part so you don't have to stress about memorizing every single login.
